Thunderbirds Are Go: Adventures

When: May 2015 – Present

Contribution: Unity Developer using C#. My work so far has included:

★ Implementing the core app framework including the setup of the main scenes and an innovative state system using Unity 5’s animator.

★ Working closely with the artists and designer to implement many of the mini-game-style interactive experiences.

★ Ensuring that all systems are flexible enough to have content delivered weekly as new episodes air.

★ Creating robust, reusable code that works across iOS and Android.

Description: Thunderbirds Are Go: Adventures is an episodic, interactive reading app designed to deliver a second screen experience as soon as new episodes of the TV show air. The game is split into episodes with each one based on an episode of the show. The game is soon available for iPad and iPhone and is created in Unity and C#.

When: September 2014 – April 2015

Contribution: Software engineer using C# / Unity. My work so far has included:

★ Implementing new gameplay features including an in-game currency system and an overhaul of the game’s combat.

★ Improving tools for the designers and animators to enable them to work more effectively.

★ Helping to oversee several releases of the game by bug fixing which involves a thorough understanding of the large codebase.

★ Working closely in small, cross-discipline teams to implement new features and improvements to the game in an Agile fashion.

★ Diagnosing and improving performance in some of the problem areas in the game to make the game more playable on lower end devices.

Description: If… is a rich, interactive story-based game designed to teach social and emotional learning (SEL) skills through an engaging narrative with fully voiced characters. The game is split into chapters (10 so far) with one released every month, where each chapter focuses on one aspect of the SEL curriculum. The game is available for iPad and iPhone and is created in Unity and C#.
